At Golden Lodge #50, we welcome good men of strong moral character who believe in a Supreme Being and seek to live by the highest virtues. We make no distinction between religious denominations, political views, social status, or wealth. It is the heart and integrity of the man, not his position in life, that recommend him to our fraternity.
To Become One, Ask One
It is an ancient custom of Freemasonry that no man is ever invited to join. The decision must come freely, from your own desire to grow in wisdom, service, and brotherhood. We are always glad to answer questions, share our history, and explain our principles. If you decide that the Masonic path is for you, we will help you take the next step.
The Path to Membership
1. Visit the Lodge
Come meet us. We welcome prospective members at certain dinners, open houses, and special events. Simply reach out to learn when you can stop by, shake hands, and get to know the Brethren.
2. Request a Petition
Once you feel ready, you may request a Petition for the Degrees of Freemasonry. This requires the signatures of several Masons. If you don’t yet know any, the best way is to visit often and build genuine connections.
3. Submit Your Petition
Return your completed Petition with the required fee to the Lodge. Petitions are read at our stated monthly meetings, so the process may take a few weeks depending on the timing.
4. The Investigation
Three members will meet with you, often at your home, to learn more about you, answer your questions, and meet your family. Honesty and openness are valued above all.
5. The Ballot
Your petition will be voted upon by the Lodge. Masonic tradition requires that the ballot be private and unanimous.
6. Upon the Threshold
If elected, you will be contacted with details about your initiation, marking the beginning of your Masonic journey.
